What is your business?

I am a retail consultant and coach for small product related businesses. I advise and teach them how to grow their sales and increase their profits.

How long have you been in business?

 2 years

What was your biggest struggle when you started your business? What did you do to overcome it?

Having a huge "to do" list. I didn't know what to work on first! I also was very nervous of websites and avoided setting one up for 12 months!

I got lots of support from my local business chamber and also from online networking and support groups

What platform do you use to reach your clients? Why did you choose it? Are you happy with the results?

Mainly, Facebook at the moment. I was already familiar with it from a personal perspective, and lots of my potential clients have Facebook pages.  Yes, I am happy with results, but still lots more work to do!

What have you done to enhance your business since your launch?

I go easy on myself. If I have a day where I don't achieve everything I intended, I don't stress out any more - I did my best, other stuff cropped up that I dealt with and there is always tomorrow.

What is the one piece of advice that you feel is most valuable that you would share with other women trying to start their own business?

Hold your nerve - initially I got impatient and then overwhelmed with how long it takes to get a business off the ground. You need to give yourself at least 6-12 months
